I grew up in a small town on the border of Texas and Arkansas — a long way from Hollywood — and worked my way onto Academy Award–winning films. Along the way I learned the thing that matters most isn’t any single tool — it’s the judgment to take an ambitious idea and actually finish it at the highest level.
